TRAINING DOGS TO FIND PEOPLE

  • Every dog-handler team should bring 2 small lidded pots and a bigger lidded pot to re-fill into the smaller pots. The highest value food for your dog (enough for 3 trails)
  • Participants displaying symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend the session.
  • Please ensure your dog/s are kept in a well ventilated, cool vehicle whilst not working. Dogs are worked individually when trailing.
  • Please note we will be trailing outdoors and sometimes on uneven ground, please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
  • Please bring a water bowl for your dog

  • Having completed the Mantrailing Introduction Session with us will enable you to book on Continuation Sessions with any Mantrailing Instructor aligned with our training methods. 
  • Mantrailing with us does not qualify the dog-handler teams to take part in real life Search & Rescue scenarios.
  • We would like to use photographs and videos of you and your dog trailing on social media, please let us know if you are not happy for us to do this.

Terms & Conditions for attending Courses and/or Membership Sessions





1. Course Bookings:





  1. Places are allocated on a first come, first served, basis. Fees are payable in advance.
  2. You will receive an email confirmation upon booking Courses. This includes important information about your class so please read it carefully.
  3. Please make a note of the date, time and venue of your class upon booking to ensure you attend the correct course.
  4. By purchasing a product from The Dog Campus, you agree to receive email communications from us. You can unsubscribe at any time.









2. Cancellation Policy:





  1. Cancellation of the course by The Dog Campus – we will offer an alternative date. If this is not suitable you will receive a full refund. Cancellation may occur if the course is significantly undersubscribed.
  2. Cancellation by you up to 10 working days prior to the course start date – refund minus £10 administrative charge.
  3. Cancellation by you within 10 working days of the course – refund minus £30 cancellation fee.
  4. Cancellation after course start date – no refund. There will be no partial refunds or transfers for missed classes or for 1:1 training sessions with less than 72 hours notice.
  5. If we find the group environment does not suit your puppy or dog we will discuss this with you and suggest an alternative training option.









3. Legal & Safety:





  1. Dogs and puppies who attend our training sessions and courses must be fully up to date with vaccinations and we may require proof.
  2. Owners hold full responsibility for their dogs at all times.
  3. Owners may only bring one dog into class at any time.
  4. Dogs must be kept on lead at all times unless instructed otherwise by your trainer.
  5. Choke chains, pinch collars, and extendable leads can be dangerous and have the potential to injure dogs or owners and will not be allowed in training. Shouting at, manhandling, or hitting your dog damages your relationship and will not be allowed in training.
  6. You are responsible for your child and supervise him/her at all times. Carefully supervise your dog around other people’s children. Please don’t let your child approach another dog without checking with the owner that it is safe to do so.
  7. Please observe Social Distancing Guidelines at all times. Hand Sanitiser will be available but please do bring your own.
  8. If you show any signs of Covid-19 symptoms, or any other communicable disease for that matter, please follow Government guidelines to self-isolate and discontinue the in-person courses. We will make every effort to let you then finish your course using various methods such as Online Training or catch-up sessions, to be organised at our discretion.









4. Training Rules:





  1. Meetings between dogs are allowed only if both dogs show they wish to meet. All such meetings must please be limited to approximately 3 seconds. Please don’t let your dog approach another dog without checking with the owner that it is safe to do so.
  2. If your dog pulls badly on lead we recommend a suitable harness or headcollar (ask for details).
  3. Please make every effort to attend all training sessions and complete the course in order to get the best results for both you and your dog. Regular practice in between sessions will help your and your dog’s progress.
  4. Please clean up after your dog if it toilets in one of the sessions or in the surrounding area (and of course at any time, anywhere!).
  5. Please bring plenty of treats (eg. food and toys) for training and be generous with your rewards!









5. Liability:





  1. We may wish to photograph or film your dog for our records or for marketing purposes. Please let us know if you do not wish your dog to be photographed or filmed.
  2. Dogs should not be brought to any Course classes or Membership Sessions if they are in season or unwell. We suggest that owners can still attend the Courses without their dogs – this helps in continuation of the training.
  3. If your dog has ever attacked another dog and caused injury requiring veterinary treatment, please let us know as they may need to be muzzled when attending.
  4. We make every effort to ensure the safety of you and your dog during classes, but sometimes accidents do happen. All instances of accident or injury must be reported at the time they occur.
  5. By making a booking, you are accepting that participating in an activity with dogs, puppies, children and adults poses a risk of injury to yourself and your puppy or dog, and you agree to indemnify The Dog Campus for all personal injury and damage to property owned by you while attending our classes or Membership Sessions. You also agree to make any person who accompanies you to The Dog Campus or our associated activities, are aware that they are also there at their own risk.
